Job Title: Human Resources Director
Reports to: Chief Operations Officer
Position Summary:
The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading and managing the employee experience for FLB. This position plays an essential role in working with management to become a trusted advisor, help shape organizational strategy, develop talent, strengthen leadership capability, and create an exceptional employee experience.
Essential Job Functions
• Direct all HR functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, payroll administration, benefits, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, succession planning, and retention initiatives.
• Serve as executive advisor to provide coaching to leadership, managers, and employees to support leadership development, business decision-making, HR management, problem-solving and performance management.
• Support payroll administration processing serving as the back-up.
• Maintain personnel, onboarding, training, compliance, and employment records in accordance with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
• Oversee timekeeping and attendance practices, ensuring accurate reporting, policy adherence, and compliance with wage and hour requirements.
• Manage recruiting and onboarding processes from initial applicant inquiry through offer presentation, pre-employment screening, orientation, and new-hire integration.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen employee knowledge, leadership capabilities, and career development.
• Coordinate employee training programs, maintain training records, monitor required education and certifications, and provide related reporting to management.
• Design and implement recognition, rewards, and employee engagement programs that improve morale, strengthen culture, and increase employee retention.
• Manage aspects of benefits programs from enrollment to servicing participants through the program cycle.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations, including PWFA, FMLA, ADA, ACA, COBRA, ERISA, FLSA, EEOC, HIPAA, Department of Labor requirements, and federal and state reporting obligations. (i.e., VETS, Multisite, EEOC, and Affirmative Action reporting).
• Coordinate and maintain required employment-related reporting, certifications, licenses, registrations, and regulatory filings.
• Maintain organizational charts, staffing records, and officer and supervisor listings.
• Support HR-related requests associated with internal audits, external audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews.
• Help maintain and strengthen the organization’s culture and values.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education & Job Qualifications: Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human resources management, Organizational Development, Business Administration preferred or 5 years' experience in related field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
(Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices including but not limited to; FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEO, PDA, HIPAA, PWFA, USERRA, IRCA and all other regulations that are applicable.
Strong experience partnering with senior leadership and managers to provide guidance on employee relations, performance issues, organizational needs, staffing, compensation, and employee development.
Experience with HRIS, payroll, benefits administration, and other HR technology systems required.
Experience managing full employee life cycle, including recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits, employee engagement, retention and offboarding.
Banking or financial services experience preferred, with an understanding of the regulatory and compliance environment associated with a financial institution.
Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement when handling sensitive employee and organizational information.
Professional HR certification (I.e. SHRM or HCRI Management) preferred.
